Laurie Ahlemann is the Creator and Director of the Prana Shakti Flow Teacher Training Certification and Mentor Programs. She is also co-owner of Bonda Yoga in Great Neck Long Island. She has been practicing and teaching Vinyasa Flow yoga on Long Island since 1999 and is certified at the 500 hour level in the ISHTA yoga style. She attended the Be Yoga/Yoga Works 500 hour certification program in New York City under the guidance of Alan Finger, founder of Ishta yoga (Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayuveda.)
She is an E-RYT 500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with the Yoga Alliance. In addition she created an in-depth Teacher Training Certificate Program for physical education teachers in the Nassau Boces school districts. This program makes it possible for yoga to be added to the physical education curriculum by knowledgeable teachers giving children from grammar school through high school a well balanced, beneficial yoga experience.
She studied Raja Yoga Meditation at the Brahma Kumaris Spiritual Center in Great Neck, Long Island for two years. These principles are applied in her guided meditation classes.

Nicki Spatacco is co-teacher of the Prana Shakti Flow Teacher Training Certification and Mentor Programs.
She started walking down the yogic path in 1998 and began a dedicated practice in 2003. As an athlete throughout her life, Nicki discovered that yoga was the perfect physical outlet while also allowing her to ultimately become a more spiritual being.
Nicki is certified at the 500 hour level through Yoga Works in NYC. Her teaching style is directly influenced by the Yoga Works style of teaching which blends the flow of Ashtanga and the precise alignment of Iyengar yoga.
Nicki brings her expertise in alignment and body mechanics to our Asana Labs and Hands on Assisting portion of the trainings. Her clear guidance brings an in-depth understanding to the subtle nuances of performing and teaching yoga postures.
She is currently pursing her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. She hopes to one day combine her love of social work and yoga to enhance the lives of others.

Kristy Kuhn was first introduced to yoga through dance classes in college and years later rediscovered yoga while dancing professionally in NYC. She received her 500 hour yoga teacher training through Yoga Works, NYC, and is registered through Yoga Alliance. Kristy holds a BS in Biology from Bucknell University and an MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is an ACSM certified Health/Fitness Instructor and ACE certified personal trainer. She has taught various yoga, dance and stress-relief classes throughout the NYC community and is currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Nassau Community College.
Kristy’s passions for dance, mind/body therapies and exercise science form the foundation of her teaching and she brings this knowledge to the Asana Lab portion of the trainings. In addition she brings her expertise in the inner
workings of the body and body mechanics to the Prana Shakti Flow
Anatomy lectures.

Trish Sumell has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 5 years. She is certified at the 200 hour level in Basic Moves Yoga for Recovery and is strongly influenced by the ISHTA tradition. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT (registered yoga teacher).
She studied meditation, energy healing and movement in Sedona, Arizona. This was the beginning of her studies and through deep inner work plus working with supportive spiritual teachers, she now offers her services as a spiritual advisor.
She is also the creator of the AHRC Nassau Yoga Program which brings yoga to developmentally challenged adults. In addition she is a presenter at the NYSARC and NYSACRA recreation conferences discussing the benefits of yoga to this population.
She adds her talent to our Philosophy Lectures and the Practice Teaching portion of the training.

Lana Russo is a RYT 500 certified in the Prana Shakti Flow Style, began practicing Vinyasa yoga in 2004 and it quickly became a passion. As a former ballet dancer, she resonated with yoga’s flowing moves and breath-connected poses.
She is certified in the Prana Shakti Flow style and is currently working her way toward 500-hour certification and E-RYT status.
Lana is involved with the Long Island Yoga School Teacher Training Program as an assistant to the senior teacher trainers. Her dance background brings awareness to the movements of the body, which serve her well in the asana labs and practice teaching sessions of the program. Please go to

Eric Galgan is a RYT 500 certified in the Prana Shakti Flow style. He has attended advanced trainings through Long Island Yoga School.
Eric’s drive and ambition has brought him to his position of teacher trainer assistant in the Prana Shakti Flow Teacher Training Program. He adds his unique flair to the anatomy by pose lectures and the practice teaching sessions of the program. He is currently enrolled in college-level Anatomy classes.
In addition, Eric is certified through Jeannene Levinson’s Neney’s Yoginis Kids’ Yoga Teacher Training. He is also a certified Pilates instructor through both Power Pilates and PHI and will be teaching the Prana Shakti Core weekend workshop scheduled to begin in April 2010.

Gina Price is certified at the 200 hour level in the Prana Shakti Flow style. In addition, she has attended advanced trainings through Long Island Yoga School. Gina has embraced the Prana Shakti Flow style of teaching and will be adding her talents to the asana lab portion of the program. Gina is also a teacher trainer assistant in the Long Island Yoga School Advanced Training Mentor Program.
