Want to teach Kid Yoga?
Teaching yoga and mindfulness to children is literally fun and games, however, there is an underlying knowledge that must be present in order to keep the little ones (and the big ones) safe.
In our Kid Yoga Supplemental Training Course you will learn the depths of child anatomy in the physical, physiological and emotional sense. These concepts will be broken down into easy to follow formats giving you the confidence and knowledge to teach any child or adolescent a safe, informative and most of all FUN experience of yoga, mindfulness and self-awareness.
What do we cover in this course?
- Anatomy of the growing child – Safe movement practices and injury prevention
- Physiological effects of breathing practices for children & adolescents
- The benefits of meditation on the brain, nervous system, and immune system
- Intelligent Sequencing for safety & fun – Knowing how & when to improvise
- Using Trauma-informed Language effectively
- How to take all this really important information and make it fun!
- Examples of games, activities and props that can be used to keep students of all ages engaged
This is a supplemental training that is a perfect addition for Certified Yoga Teachers, Clinical Therapists/Social Workers, School Educators or anyone who works with children & adolescents and is looking for a new skill set.
Time Commitment:
This workshop will be held on 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday for a total of 14-hours

Alexis Espinoza-Arrubla, 500-hour RYT, Certified Kids Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master has been interested in the wellbeing of children for many years.
She has an MS in Social Research and a B.A. in Sociology and Economics from Hunter College. Her post graduate work focused on youth and how the intersection of socio economics, race, ethnicity, culture, immigration status in the United States, gender and sexuality correlates to identity among youth. This work is very close to her heart and plays an integral part in her teachings.
In addition Alexis is a Certified Sound Healer and a Certified Mindfulness Instructor. She has written her first children’s book titled ‘The Mystery of River Nieves: Anabel and The Earth Elders‘
