This is what past students of Long Island Yoga School’s Prana Shakti Flow teacher training are saying:

This training is one of the best decisions I ever made!

I recently completed the Prana Shakti Flow 200 hour teacher training with Laurie Ahlemann and I truly cannot say enough about this amazing experience. The program is structured in a way that makes it manageable for everyone – even those with the busiest lives!
Laurie is a gifted teacher who naturally connects with her students, and she shares her extensive knowledge of yoga in a down to earth, relaxed and fun way. Within a few months, she taught me how to properly sequence a yoga class for all students – from the true beginner to the more advanced practitioner.
The way in which Laurie designed this program using basic, easy to understand sequence formats enabled me to quickly embrace the idea of teaching yoga.
Although there was a lot of information to absorb throughout the training, Laurie would always somehow lead us back to the sequence format where it all would make sense!
I can honestly say that taking the Prana Shakti Flow teacher training was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made – and to say that I highly recommend this program is an understatement!

Laurie trains her students to be the best yoga instructors they can be!

I would highly recommend the Yoga Teacher Training from the Long Island Yoga School. The course was very comprehensive, including techniques, asana, philosophy, anatomy & physiology. Laurie Ahlemann is a wonderful teacher with an authentic voice and a deep knowledge of yoga. The instructional sessions are informative and fun. Laurie focuses on the traditions of yoga which makes the experience even more rewarding. She is honest, open and truly cares about each of her students and trains them to be the best yoga instructors they can be. I am forever grateful for this experience.

Laurie believed in me from day one!

When doing my research for a 200 hour program, I found Long Island Yoga School and after meeting with the owner, Laurie I decided to enroll and it was the best decision I have ever made. I was nervous to begin as I have never practiced yoga in a studio and only had a home practice, but Laurie believed in me from day one. She creates a very comfortable and nurturing environment for her students to learn. At the end of the 200 hour program. I feel comfortable and confident in the teacher I have become. I cannot say enough good things about this program and Laurie. It is an amazing experience to become the best teacher you can and really deepen your own practice. I am now signed up to do her 300 hour program and cannot wait to start!

I can create sequences more efficiently saving me a lot of time and doubt!

I really loved my teacher training with Laurie Ahlemann of Long Island Yoga School. As time goes by, I love it even more because of the results I see in the classes I teach. The feedback that I receive from my students is overwhelmingly positive. They appreciate the knowledge of the alignment of the postures, the precise cueing and instructions, the energetic balancing of the sequences, the effective, safe assists and the philosophy weaved into the classes. I was able to fine tune all these aspects of a class through my training with Laurie. Another improvement that I noticed, is that I am able to plan my sequences much more efficiently with the guidelines that I was given saving me a lot of time and doubt. Each day I feel gratitude for all the knowledge and guidance that I received from Laurie. I highly recommend the Long Island Yoga School teacher training programs.

She had more faith in my ability than I did in myself.

Laurie Ahlemann changed my life 13 years ago when she chose to teach me yoga when others were afraid to, she taught me to never use this disease of MS as a crutch, to use my props AND to dare to go to my edges, and maybe even a little past them!
After a few years of practicing, I was thinking about taking a teacher training, however I was convinced that my brain could never absorb that kind of information, that this disease just wouldn’t allow me to do that. She told me it’s embodied, it’s an organic experience and you will learn it, it’s not intellectual and that I just had to have blind faith….in 2010 I graduated from the Prana Shakti Flow teacher training program and every word she said was true. I now teach others who live with a chronic illness or challenge. If our souls had not met, I’m not sure I would have pursued teacher training or fallen in love with the practice of yoga both on and off the mat and I most assuredly would not be walking today and that is straight from my neurologist. Yoga has gotten me through when so many times I could have given up and Laurie has always encouraged me through good and hard times.
I couldn’t be more grateful for her coming into my life, being my friend, my 1st yoga teacher, my mentor and the one who had more faith in my ability then I did in myself.
